Tracy Arm is one of Alaska's most dramatic fjords - a narrow passage nearly 30 miles long, flanked by walls of granite and cascading waterfalls, ending at the twin Sawyer Glaciers. The water runs an almost impossible shade of blue-green from glacial silt, and icebergs of every size drift past the ship as you move deeper into the fjord. Harbor seals haul out on the ice floes, bald eagles circle overhead, and the whole experience has a quality of stillness and grandeur that's genuinely hard to describe to someone who hasn't been there.
What we'd suggest: Be on deck for the entire transit. This is one of those rare experiences where the journey is entirely the point.
