The Cook Strait ferry crossing covers 96 km (52 nautical miles) in around 3.5 hours and is considered one of the world’s most scenic ferry journeys, with views of Wellington Harbour, the Marlborough Sounds and the open strait between the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean.
