Tipping is not mandatory in India, but it is an important and meaningful gesture. For most of the people you will meet — guides, drivers, hotel staff — this is not a bonus on top of a comfortable salary. It is a significant part of their income, and a small amount for us can make a genuine difference in their daily lives. Think of it as a direct way of saying thank you to the people who make your journey possible.
Local guides During our trip we will have a different local guide in each city: Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Pushkar. Rather than each of you handling tips individually, I will collect everyone's contribution and pass it on to each guide on your behalf at the end of their time with us. This keeps things simple and ensures no one is forgotten.
Here is how to calculate your contribution per guide:
Total for all guides: approx. ₹4,000–₹6,400 per person (approx. €43–€70)
Private driver (with us throughout the entire trip) Our driver will be with us from the very first day to the last. I will collect tips for him as well and hand them over at the end of the journey as a single, meaningful gesture. ₹300–₹500 per person, per day (approx. €3–€5) — total over 10 days: approx. ₹3,000–₹5,000 per person (approx. €33–€55)
Hotel staff (porters, housekeeping) ₹100–₹200 per service (approx. €1–€2) — these you can give directly and spontaneously as you go if you feel to.
A practical tip: withdraw some cash on arrival in Delhi and set aside a small envelope of smaller notes specifically for tips. ₹100 and ₹500 banknotes are ideal — keep them separate from your spending money so you always have the right amount ready.

Le mance in India non sono obbligatorie, ma sono un gesto importante e significativo.
