Antarctic Peninsula
After two days crossing the Drake, the first sight of Antarctica often stops conversation mid-sentence.
Towering ice cliffs. Glaciers spilling into the sea. The stillness.
Today marks our first expedition landings. Conditions will determine our exact location, but we may step ashore at sheltered harbors along the Peninsula where gentoo penguins gather in lively colonies and Weddell seals rest along the shoreline.
Boarding Zodiacs, we’ll make wet landings guided by Swan Hellenic’s expedition team. Every step is deliberate. Every moment feels earned.
For many travelers, this is the emotional shift. You are no longer traveling to Antarctica.
You are standing in it.
