Our final full day among the Antarctic landscapes often feels different.
By now, stepping into a Zodiac feels familiar. The cold feels manageable. The scale feels less overwhelming and more awe-inspiring.
We continue to adapt to the ice and weather, seeking the best possible landing sites and wildlife opportunities. It may be a quiet rocky beach dotted with penguins. It may be a dramatic glacier front echoing with distant calving ice.
There is no fixed script in Antarctica. That is the magic.
As we begin to turn northward later in the day, many travelers find themselves already changed by the experience.
The silence.
The scale.
The privilege of having been here.
