Upon arriving in Inverness, we dive straight into the heart of the Highlands. A local guide will meet us for a walking tour of the city center, giving you the perfect introduction to this historic and vibrant hub. This is where the wildness of the Highlands meets the charm of a walkable city, and you'll feel it with every step.
Our walk will take us past some of Inverness's most iconic landmarks. We'll see the proud Inverness Castle standing guard over the city, the stunning architecture of the Inverness Cathedral, and the historic Inverness Town House. We'll stroll along the picturesque banks of the River Ness, which flows right through the city center, and see the Old High Church, whose spire has been a part of the Inverness skyline for centuries. We'll also catch a glimpse of Eden Court, the city's modern hub for arts and culture.
But this isn't just a history lesson. We'll also get a hands-on look at one of Scotland's most famous traditions with a guided tour of the Highland House of Fraser, a traditional Scottish kiltmaker. You'll learn about the history, craftsmanship, and cultural significance of the tartan, with time for a little shopping if you feel like taking a piece of Scotland home with you.
After our walk, we'll head to the hotel to check in. The rest of the evening is yours to explore on your own. Find a cozy pub for dinner, take another walk along the river, or just relax and settle into your new Highland home base. You've arrived.
