After breakfast, we're heading out on the water. Your Tour Manager meets the group in the lobby and escorts you to the Fort William Town Pier, where we'll board our vessel for a 2-hour Seal Island Cruise on Loch Linnhe. (Your Tour Manager won't be joining us on the boat, but they'll make sure you get there and back safely.)
This is one of those experiences that feels like stepping into a nature documentary. As we cruise toward Black Rock—locally known as Seal Island—you'll encounter both Common seals and Atlantic Grey seals lounging on the rocks, swimming in the loch, and doing what seals do best: being ridiculously charming. But the seals are just the beginning. Your knowledgeable skipper will provide live commentary throughout the journey, pointing out potential sightings of porpoises, otters, red deer along the shoreline, sea eagles soaring overhead, and a variety of other bird species. You might even spot jellyfish drifting through the water if conditions are right.
The scenery alone is worth the trip—dramatic mountains rising from the loch, rugged coastline, and the kind of wild Highland beauty that makes you understand why so many stories are set here. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase on board, so grab a coffee or a treat and settle in for the ride.
After the cruise, you'll have free time for lunch on your own. We recommend keeping it light, as we've got more adventures ahead this afternoon.
