Flights & Airport Information
Airfare is not included in the Soulful Experience package and should be booked separately. Here's what you need to know to get there and home smoothly.
Arrival — Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD)
Fly into Budapest (BUD) for embarkation on December 5. Plan to arrive no later than the afternoon of December 5 to allow time to transfer to the ship and get settled before the Welcome Reception. If you'd like more time to explore Budapest before boarding, consider the optional pre-cruise land package (2 nights from $780/pp) — ask us to add it to your booking.
Getting from BUD to the ship: AmaWaterways can arrange a private transfer from the airport to the ship. Ask us to coordinate this when you're ready to book.
Departure — Munich Airport (MUC)
Fly home from Munich (MUC) on December 14. Your post-cruise hotel is in Munich city center. Plan flights departing December 14 — allow at least 3 hours before your scheduled departure for the transfer from the city to the airport, check-in, and security.
Getting to MUC: Taxis and rideshares are readily available from Munich city center. The S-Bahn (S1 and S8 lines) also connects the city to the airport in about 45 minutes for a low-cost option.
Booking Tips
- Book flights early for December travel — holiday fares fill up fast, especially transatlantic routes
- Look for nonstop or one-stop itineraries through major European hubs: Frankfurt (FRA), Amsterdam (AMS), London (LHR), or Paris (CDG)
- Consider arriving a day early to Budapest as a buffer against delays, especially for winter travel
