Victoria is our final port and she saves herself for the evening... which turns out to be exactly the right time to see her. The Inner Harbour lit up at night is genuinely stunning. The British Columbia Parliament Buildings are outlined in lights, the waterfront is alive, and the whole city has this gracious, unhurried energy that feels like the perfect exhale after a week of big Alaska adventure.
Our time here is an evening stop, so this isn't a full excursion day. It's a stroll. A glass of wine on the harbour. Maybe a horse-drawn carriage ride if you're feeling it. Window shopping along Government Street. Fresh fish and chips if you haven't had enough seafood yet (you haven't).
Victoria is the unexpected gem of this route. It's elegant, walkable, and genuinely lovely. It's also a beautiful reminder that the best travel moments aren't always the biggest ones... sometimes it's just a harbor at night with good company and nowhere you need to be.
