Day 5 starts in RÜDESHEIM. Join a wine tasting to discover the flavors of the town’s iconic vineyards and drink up the stunning views by soaring high above the vineyards with a gondola ride to the Niederwalddenkmal. For a more active adventure, hike through the town’s beautiful vineyards or join a guided bike tour along the scenic Rhine River. (B,L,D)
Board an open-air cable car and glide silently up over the geometric rows of Riesling vines. At the top, step out at the massive Niederwalddenkmal Monument; built in the late 1800s to commemorate the unification of Germany; to enjoy panoramic valley views and a tasting of crisp estate wines right where they are grown.
For a closer look at the local terroir, join an active guided foot hike through the rolling vineyard paths. Learn firsthand about the challenging slate soils, steep microclimates, and centuries-old cultivation techniques that define the Rheingau region.
Hop on a bicycle for a scenic, flat ride along the dedicated paths flanking the historic Rhine River. Enjoy the refreshing riverside breeze while passing historic stone estates and watching the river traffic slide by.
