Victoria earns its reputation as one of the most livable cities in Canada - and one of the most enjoyable cruise ports in the Pacific Northwest. The Inner Harbour is the social and cultural center of the city, buzzing in summer with visiting yachts, street performers, and excursion boats heading out to whale watch. The Royal British Columbia Museum is genuinely world-class. The afternoon tea tradition, while touristy, is executed with enough authenticity to be worth experiencing. And the Butchart Gardens - 55 acres of world-famous blooms - are worth the short drive from the harbor.
What we'd suggest: Walk the Inner Harbour in the morning, spend an hour at the Royal BC Museum, and take a whale watching excursion in the afternoon. Victoria rewards the visitor who lingers.
