Seminar at Sea — Paul in Malta & Rome: The Final Journey

As we sail toward our final destination, Pastor Chris Young gathers us one last time for a Seminar at Sea that serves as both a devotional culmination of our pilgrimage and a spiritual send-off into the two most powerful destinations remaining on our journey: Malta and Rome.
Looking Back, Looking Forward
This seminar is designed as both a recap and a preparation. We will revisit the arc of Paul's journeys as a whole — from Damascus to Antioch, from Philippi to Ephesus, from Corinth to Athens — and then look ahead to the dramatic conclusion: the shipwreck at Malta, the winter on the island, and the triumphal yet imprisoned arrival in Rome.
What We'll Explore
- The Shipwreck at Malta (Acts 27–28) — One of the most gripping narratives in the entire Bible: the storm at sea, the miraculous survival, and the extraordinary welcome by the Maltese people. How does this story speak to us about faith in the storms of life?
- Paul's Three Months on Malta — Healing, miracles, and the planting of a faith that endures to this day. What can we learn from Paul's ministry in a place he never planned to visit?
- The Road to Rome — Paul's arrival in the imperial capital as a prisoner — and yet his two years there produced some of his most celebrated letters (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Philemon). How does Paul's example redefine what it means to minister from a place of weakness?
- Finishing Well — A personal and devotional reflection: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7). What does it mean for each of us to finish well?

As the pilgrimage nears its close, Pastor Chris will invite each traveler to reflect personally:
- What moment from this journey has moved you most deeply?
- What truth have you carried with you from the ancient cities we've walked?
- How will you take this experience home?
The journey of Paul ends in Rome. But the story it tells — of courage, faith, and the unstoppable power of the Gospel — has no ending. May it continue in each of us.
